How to interpret your own astrology chart using planetary symbols

Interpreting astrology is like putting a sentence together.

Astrology is an analysis of the characteristics of 2 variables, namely Planets and Stars.  To do the analysis, the sky is carved up like a piece into 12 pieces called houses.  Each of these houses represents an aspect of us. For example, the 2nd hour (associated with Taurus) is connected to our material possessions, what we value, self worth and finances, whereas the 7th house is about how we relate to others. So we find out where the planets and stars were located within the pie (houses).  Finally, the geometry between the planets is determined as it shows how well or not the planets (ie the energies within us) are getting on.  The geometry is called aspects for example, opposites, trines, square etc.

The analysis works by treating each of the 4 elements (planets, stars, houses and aspects) as parts of a sentence.

The “what “is happening within you is shown by the Planets
The “how “ it is happening within you is shown by the Stars
The “where” in your life is the House (or section of the pie)
How well the planetary energies within you are getting on is determined by their position in relation to each other.

Use the summary of the characteristics of the planets and stars and the meanings of houses and aspects to do your own interpretation.

For example,

The Planet Mars (about asserting/fighting) in Taurus (slow, patient but determined) in the 8th house (the aspect of you that deals with issues shared with others such as sex, power and money) would mean, the thing that makes you fight are issues of sex, power and money, and you would fight in a slow but determined way.

Another example, if you have Venus (love, values, partnerships, beauty, art) in Gemini (communication) in the 10th house (professional ambition, goals, public face), then you would tend to show your love in a verbal way and would be suited to a profession which afforded you the opportunity to exhibit these traits, for example, arts magazines, arts business, entertainment business.
